ICA - Young Professional of the Year Award 2024

This competition is your chance as young professionals to speak up and challenge our organizations on the chosen topic. By driving change in your organization, you can inspire other organizations to improve, as well. In cooperation with our partner Boertien Vergouwen Overduin, ICA came up with a great plan for this year’s competition. The competition consists of three different dates where several teams will work on a challenging case to stimulate positive change in our member organizations.

Topic: ‘Forming strong relations in the workplace’

Practical information

There are 3 key dates:

  1.  The kick-off session will be hosted on 11 or 18 April (Location TBD)
  2. The second session, the inspiration session will be on 15 or 23 May (Location TBD)
  3. The final, hosted by APG, will be held in their office in Amsterdam on the 27th of June.

All sessions will take place in the evening after work. The inspiration session and the finals will be in-person events.

The final product

Short 10-minute presentation, including a short 3-minute film explaining your idea on programs that can be instituted on ‘Forming strong relations in the workplace’.

Benefits for participating teams

  1. Drive change and make a positive impact in your organization (and inspire other organizations as well)
  2. Receive coaching and inspiration sessions from our partner Boertien Vergouwen Overduin
  3. Develop your teamwork & leadership skills
  4. Expand your network
  5. Have fun with a group of ambitious young professionals
  6. Add a cool update to your CV & LinkedIn
  7. Win a generous prize offered by ICA and our partner BVO!

Time investment

We expect each participant to reserve approximately 2 hours per week to work on the case. The time investment will depend highly on the amount of team members and the dedication and effort of the team. How you use your time as a team is completely up to you. You have until the finals (approximately 10 weeks) to develop your case.

Note: Jong TNO cannot provide you with hours for the event. Please agree to this with your manager, if you would like to spend work hours for this.

Interested? Great! Each company can sign up a team consisting of between five to eight people, including a team lead. The team lead will be ICA's main point of contact and will be in charge of organizing the team (meetings) internally. So, leader-to-be, step up and find your ambitious partners!

Please sign up internally using the Jong TNO page. The Networking Committee will then register the team and help connect you to other prior participants (from other companies) and facilitate any attachments, if desired. If you have questions about this, please reach out to Saarang Gaggar.
