We are delighted to announce that the YEAR (Young European Associated Researchers) network will host a 2-day training event on good scientific practice with focus on how research integrity serves researchers.
The event will be organized together with AIT, and the training will be given by Sabine Chai from OeAWI. The training will be held at Giefinggasse 4, Vienna, Austria, on November 28-29 2024.
This 2-day training event is designed to equip researchers with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain research integrity. The program will cover various aspects of research ethics and responsible conduct of research, including:
* Introduction to Research Ethics and Research Integrity (RE&RI)
* Current guidelines on research integrity
* Protecting working relationships between researchers
* Authorship agreements and conflicts
* Publication ethics and proper citation
* Responsible use of AI in research
* Research misconduct and its handling
**Day 1: Thursday, November 28th**
* 13:00-15:00: Introduction to RE&RI, including history, current topics, and guidelines
* 15:15-17:00: Research integrity: Current Guidelines, Protecting working relationships between researchers, and Publication ethics
**Day 2: Friday, November 29th**
* 9:00-10:30: Protecting the working relationships between researchers (continued)
* 10:45-12:15: Research integrity: Protecting the research record, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Data Management
* 13:15-14:45: Responsible Use of AI in Research and Research Misconduct
* 15:00-16:00: Whistleblowing and Simulation (ORI's The Lab)
* 16:00-16:30: Recap, Feedback forms, and Good-bye
This training event is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of research integrity and responsible conduct of research. Participants will engage in lectures, discussions, exercises, role-playing, and simulations to develop their skills and knowledge.
